Lower Fireweed™
Recommended beautiful wooded hike route between Eagle's Nest and Mid-Vail facilities; 1 mile (1.6 km), 30-40 min.

Upper Fireweed™
A beautiful, beginner hiking trail from Eagle's Nest to Mid Vail' 1.2 miles (1.9 km); 30-40 min

Berrypicker™
Mid-Vail or Eagle's Nest to Vail Village or Lionshead. The intermediate trail starts off Lower Fireweed. Wildlife and wildflowers are plentiful on this shaded hiking trail from mid-mountain to the bottom. Minnie's Deck is a perfect spot for a picnic along the way; 4.6 miles (7.4 km), 2-3 hours.

Ridge Route™
Eagle's Nest to Wildwood and back. Climb the intermediate ridge through meadows and take in views of Game Creek Bowl, the Sawatch Range and Mount of the Holy Cross; 2.8 miles (4.5km), 1.5-2 hours.

Ptarmigan Loop™
This intermediate route connects with Ridge Route at Wildwood, takes you to Ptarmigan Point and then back. Easy trail passing through wildflower-filled meadows and shaded woods. Views of the world famous Sun Down Bowl; 1.2 miles (1.9 km), 30-40 min. Loop with Ridge Route; 4 miles (4.2 km), 2.5-3 hours.

Kinnickinnick™
This intermediate route connects with Ridge Route at Wildwood and takes you to Mid-Vail. Wooded trail with wildflowers and mushrooms in abundance; 2 miles (3.2 km), 2 hours. Kinnickinnick with Ridge Route; 3.4 miles (5.5 km) 3.5-4 hours.

Sunlight™
This intermediate route connects with Ridge Route and Kinnickinnick at the Wildwood Shelter and takes you to Patrol Headquarters. Hike to the summit of Vail Mountain at en elevation of 11,250 feet (3,429 km) for beautiful views; 1.5 miles (2.4 km), 1 hour. Length of route with connecting trails varies; 3.5-4.5 miles (5.6-7.2 km), 2.5-3 hours.
