After one of the coldest winters on record in the Vail Valley, it took until almost mid-June for summer to really kick in. As recently as June 6th, snow was falling from the sky. No longer...85 degree temperatures under clear Colorado-blue skies has been the norm, reminding us all why we "came for the skiing and stayed for the summer".

Summer is in full swing, and so are the world famous events taking place daily in the Valley. Click here for my events calendar:

Every Tuesday night throughout the summer, enjoy the Hot Summer Nights free concerts, thanks to the Vail Valley Foundation. All musical styles are represented in this popular concert series at the Ford Amphitheater: Jazz, Bluegrass, Rock, Hip-hop and even dance exhibitions. Food and drinks are available in the venue.

One of the most attended and applauded series is the Vail International Dance Festival. Also produced by the Vail Valley Foundation, the festival brings some of the worlds finest ballet, modern, tap, ballroom and flamenco dancers to the Ford Amphitheater. Purchase indoor seats or sit on the grass to see this incomparable series of world-class performances. I recommend buying tickets online at www.vvf.org.

At the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts in Beaver Creek, top name acts come weekly all year round. Emmylou Harris, Clint Black and Todd Rundgren are just a few of the most notable of performers coming in July. Visit www.vilarpac.org for schedule and ticket information.
