Sunshine! Well, sort of…
After several weeks of snowfall we just had several consecutive sunny days. This welcome change in the weather has been a delight. For a while I forgot what the sun looked like! It's snowing again today with 7 new inches on the ground and the forecast is for more snow during this week. This season just keeps getting better and better!

VIP
As you may have already heard, we were honored to have First Lady Michelle Obama visiting over President's Weekend. She came with daughters Sasha and Malia with one goal in mind – to learn to ski! I was teaching skiing that weekend (which I still do very part time) and we were fortunate enough to see her on Eagle's Nest Ridge on the way to the Gondola. Surprisingly, she had few people in her entourage and, as such, was quite hard to spot. But I am close friends with her instructor and once I saw him, I knew she wasn't too far behind. Reports said she enjoyed dinner at Sweet Basil and Kelly Liken and plans to come back next year for more skiing. What a great boost for the ski business and especially for Vail!
